Earlier this week Michelle came for a Driving Assessment to establish her suitability to get back on the road following a spinal injury; when she arrived she was very nervous and was unsure as to whether she would drive a conventional vehicle again.
After an initial chat it was agreed that Michelle would try and complete the assessment in a manual transmission vehicle and to everyone’s delight the outcome was that she was able to return to driving safely in a manual transmission vehicle!
“I came to the Centre really nervous, Lauren and Kate set my mind to rest and the outcome of the assessment is going to change my life. I couldn’t go anywhere, I was stuck in my home and getting my wheels back will reinstate my independence. In September I was paralysed and now I will be out driving it’s just amazing and I can’t get over it. I thought my life was over but this has brought my confidence back and I’m on the path to recovery.”
