The Tricycle Clinics, arranged on a regular basis at St Chad’s Parish Centre, Headingley.
Two companies attend the Clinic with a range of adapted tricycles which offer the postural support and gear option to meet the needs of your child.
Many children who are unable to sit or stand independently can achieve a pedaling action if they are provided with the required postural support.
Following a discussion with yourself and/or the referring professional, an appointment will be made for your child at the St Chad’s Parish Centre. Before the Assessment is booked it will have to be authorised by an Occupational Therapist to ensure we have the correct equipment for the day of the Assessment.
What an Assessment consists of?
Our Occupational Therapists will complete an initial interview, taking details about your child's medical condition. Then we will move onto the practical part of the Assessment when the client is able to trial the Triycles.
After an Assessment?
Following your assessment you will receive advice and information on the equipment tried and a list of reputable retailers and funding sources. We will send you a report summarising your child's assessment with any recommendations and the stockists details.
